PaulssonPaleo: August 2017

I'm sitting here on the balcony, gazing out at the grounds of our little "Escape" and marvelling at how things have changed over the last few years.

It's now two and a half years since we moved to Simlångsdalen. Two and half years of blood, sweat and tears. It's been hard, really hard, I won't lie. Anyone who contemplates doing what we've done, do give me a call and let me take you out of the romantic bubble...

But it is on a day like this, when I am sat on the roof in the sun in my PJs, sniffling with a nursery style cold (nasty, nasty bug) that I am grateful that we persevered. We're finally starting to see the results of all of that work. The long hours in the fields, the incredibly difficult task of learning how to work together as a family AND a company, the drawn-put process of building the extension, the injuries, the not-so-successful harvests of yesteryears, the heartbreak of dead and runaway animals, the endless list of must-do-NOW, the disappointments of failed enterprises, the fear of not being able to support ourselves in the long run...

All of that hard work is finally starting to pay off. The bed & breakfast "Escape to PaulssonPaleo" got off to a flying start this summer, with more (extremely happy!) guests than we could ever have imagined. Our network of loving, likeminded, incredibly creative people has expanded exponentially, sending people our way that enrich our personal as well as professional lives. And our courses are finally coming off the ground, especially yoga. And the harvest, wow, most of what we're eating right now is OURS. Amazing feeling.

So I raise my coffee mug today, to my clan and to all of the people around us, clients, customers, friends and business partners, that have made this possible. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
